Mr.
Scott Bonner
Mr. Bonner's training
began over 10 years ago in the art of Tae Kwon Do. He spent that time
focusing on serious training and building power. He has brought those
traits along to his Kenpo training.
Mr. Bonner started
his Kenpo training at our Lafayette UKK school and continues as a student
of Mr. Hughes today. His time at the Indiana school was well spent as
a full-time student, not only attending all possible regular classes,
but also not missing a Friday night forms class. He has also attended
many seminars with Kenpo's top instructors, including Mr. Richard "Huk"
Planas, the head of our Kenpo lineage.
Known for thinking
critically about every piece of information he is taught, Mr. Bonner
puts a strong focus on building proper basics in his classes. This is
the UKK way and it is great to see a strong focus on drilling the foundation
of our art in all of his classes. Too many students and teachers get
focused on just learning more techniques and never take enough time
to do the drilling necessary to make those techniques strong.
Mr. Bonner got
started teaching on the WashU campus out of a desire to make serious
self-defense training available on campus. Making self-defense available
for the women of campus is very important to Mr. Bonner.
